GMC Canyon AT4 Concept: A True Off-Road Warrior | Edinburg, TX
Earlier this year, GMC pulled back the covers on its Canyon AT4 Concept truck at the Overland Expo Mountain West 2021. This new GMC Canyon concept proves just how capable the AT4 can be on- and off-road.

What Makes The GMC Canyon AT4 Concept Perfect For Off-Roading
The concept truck boasts a number of unique features that make it the ideal premium off-roading truck. For starters, the Canyon AT4 Concept benefits from a factory-lifted wide off-road chassis with enhanced underbody coverage. It also has cast-iron control arms and off-road rocker panel protectors.
In addition, the AT4 Concept features guy lines that protect the windshield from low-hanging branches and a spare tire swivel mount. Rounding out the extra features are wheel flares with integrated task lamps, a heavy-duty bumper with winch, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and integrated front recovery points.
How It Performs
The approach angle of the concept truck is a whopping 27.7 degrees. In addition, the GMC Canyon AT4 off-roading concept truck can handle water fording up to 32.1 inches and boasts a ground clearance of 10 inches, in part thanks to the 33-inch BFGoodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain tires, wrapped around the 17-inch AEV Crestone wheels.
Under The Hood
The GMC Canyon AT4 Concept takes its power from a 3.6-liter V6 engine, married to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Off-Roading Lifestyle
Other features of the GMC Canyon AT4 Concept are perfectly suited for those who enjoy off-roading. Among them are a roof-mounted tent, a 270-degree awning, traction boards, a cooler and kitchenette, truck bed storage with a drawer system, and a solar panel.
The Future Of Off-Roading
While this is a concept truck, it will influence the future of GMC off-roading. Aldred said, “Consumer reaction to this concept’s design will help us further serve the growing market of buyers leading authentic outdoor lifestyles.”
