2022 GMC Sierra Goes Hands-Free With Super Cruise™ Technology | Edinburg, TX
Super Cruise™ hands-free semi-autonomous driving technology has been an industry leader since it debuted a few years back. The technology allows drivers in an equipped vehicle to have a hands-free experience on more than 200,000 miles of road here in the U.S. The latest model to join that exclusive lineup is the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500.
How To Get Super Cruise™ On The Sierra 1500
The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 will not offer Super Cruise™ technology across the lineup. To get this one-of-a-kind feature, you will need to spring for the Sierra Denali, the highest trim level for the pickup. In addition to the Super Cruise™ functionality, the 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali boasts a new automatic lane change feature.
How the Super Cruise™ Technology Works
Given that Super Cruise™ drives for the actual driver, there is a lot of complex technology that goes into it. A combination of LiDAR-generated map data, real-time cameras, sensors, GPS, and a driver attention system is responsible for the successful autonomous driving experience. If at any time the system detects that the driver is not paying attention, the driver will be prompted to resume operation of the vehicle.
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
Super Cruise™ technology is just one element of the new GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. In addition, you will be able to choose from two premium powertrains:
- The 6.2-liter V8 gas engine
- The 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel engine
Your Sierra will also come with the world’s first six-function MultiPro Tailgate. The elegant interior is marked by handcrafted materials, including brushed aluminum trim, authentic open-pore ash wood, and forge perforated leather seating surfaces. Advanced interior tech includes the 15-inch diagonal multicolor Head-Up Display, which projects key info onto the windshield of the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali.
