GMC trucks are unlike others in the industry. While they lead in performance and towing, they also stand out because of their more sophisticated styling and upscale interiors. But which of the premium 2019 GMC trucks is right for you: the 2019 GMC Canyon, 2019 GMC Sierra 1500, or the 2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD or 3500HD?
2019 GMC Canyon
The 2019 Canyon is GMC’s most fuel-efficient pickup — and tied with the Colorado as America’s most fuel-efficient mid-size pickup truck. Its available 2.8-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel engine achieves up to 30 mpg on the highway.* This engine also generates 181 horsepower and best-in-class torque (369 lb-ft), and it can tow up to 7,700 pounds (another best-in-class). Other engine options include the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the 3.6-liter V6.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500
GMC’s most popular pickup is the 2019 Sierra 1500 full-size truck. The Sierra 1500 produces up to 420 horsepower and can tow up to 12,200 pounds. For 2019, the GMC Sierra 1500 introduces the world’s first six-function MultiPro™ tailgate with six unique functions for easier access, loading, and unloading. That’s not the only word’s first for the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500, which this year also introduced the world’s first carbon fiber bed.
2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD
The two most potent pickup trucks in the GMC lineup are the 2019 GMC Sierra HD models: the 2500HD and 3500HD. Both heavy-duty trucks are available with either the Vortec® 6.0-liter V8 engine, which produces 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, or the Duramax® 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 engine, which produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The biggest difference between the two trucks is their towing ability. The 2019 Sierra 2500HD can tow up to 14,500 pounds, and the 2019 Sierra 3500HD can tow up to 20,000 pounds — both via conventional trailering.
